About The Project
Second Chance is an interactive digital education program developed with AFHK (Action for Healthy Kids) and CDPHE (Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment) to help students learn about tobacco and nicotine use in a more supportive, restorative way. Rather than positioning the program as discipline, the experience helps students learn, reflect, and grow while understanding how nicotine affects their body, brain, choices, stress, and decision-making.
Project goals
Second Chance needed a secure, scalable learning platform that schools and organizations could use to deliver interactive tobacco and nicotine education to students. The platform needed to support school, district, staff, and student workflows; registration and approval processes; bilingual English and Spanish content; H5P learning activities; audio support; Salesforce data syncing; PowerBI reporting; and responsive usability across student devices.
Project results
Colorado Digital built and refined a Drupal-based learning platform with interactive modules, admin access, student enrollment tools, Salesforce integration planning, responsive improvements, Spanish-language refinements, audio enhancements, and beta-tested updates. The result is a more accessible and engaging program experience that supports students, schools, and program administrators while creating a foundation for long-term tracking and growth.
