Lupus Colorado

Lupus Colorado is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and families affected by lupus through education, advocacy, support services, and financial assistance.

Colorado Digital partnered with Lupus Colorado to redesign and rebuild its website, creating a modern digital platform that better supports the organization’s mission and the people it serves. The project included a complete WordPress website redesign, updated information architecture, responsive development, SEO planning, donation integration, logo refinement, and a more flexible content management experience.

The new site was designed to make critical resources easier to find while providing Lupus Colorado with a platform their team could confidently manage and expand as the organization grows.

Project Goals

The primary goal was to create a more accessible, engaging, and manageable website that could better connect people affected by lupus with the information and support available to them.

Key project goals included:

Modernize the website design while maintaining and strengthening Lupus Colorado’s established brand.
Improve navigation and content organization so visitors could more easily find educational materials, support resources, events, and information for newly diagnosed individuals.
Create a responsive experience optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Give Lupus Colorado staff an easy-to-manage WordPress content management system.
Improve the donation experience through integration with the organization’s existing fundraising platform.
Establish a dedicated news and content platform to support ongoing communications, newsletters, and organic search visibility.
Improve technical and on-page SEO while carefully managing existing URLs during the website transition.
Refine the Lupus Colorado logo and create updated, scalable brand assets.
Provide training and documentation so the organization could independently manage its website after launch.

Project Results

The completed website provides Lupus Colorado with a cleaner, more modern digital presence that better reflects the importance of its mission while making its programs and resources easier to discover.

Content was reorganized around the needs of visitors, creating clearer pathways to information about lupus, resources for newly diagnosed individuals, support programs, events, organizational information, and ways to contribute. A responsive design improved the experience across devices, while the WordPress platform gave Lupus Colorado greater flexibility and control over ongoing website updates.

Colorado Digital also incorporated SEO considerations throughout the rebuild, including restructuring content and implementing redirects for important legacy URLs to help preserve search visibility during the transition. Donation functionality was integrated into the new experience, the organization’s visual identity was refined, and staff were provided with a more sustainable platform for publishing news and expanding content over time.

The result is a website that not only modernized Lupus Colorado’s online presence but also created a stronger foundation for community outreach, education, fundraising, and long-term digital growth.
