BeBackBy is a safety application designed for hikers, bikers, backpackers, skiers, snowboarders, and others who enjoy solo outdoor activities. Users create a trip, specify where they are going and when they expect to return, and mark themselves "Home Safe" when the activity is complete. If they don't return as scheduled, BeBackBy can alert designated contacts that they may need assistance.

Colorado Digital developed the supporting web experience for BeBackBy, creating an online platform where users could learn how the service works, manage their accounts, view available credits, and purchase credits for use with the mobile application. The project combined web development, account functionality, online transactions, and digital marketing support around a unique technology product focused on outdoor safety.

Project Goals

Clearly explain the BeBackBy concept and the safety benefits of the application to outdoor enthusiasts.
Create a web experience that complements and supports the BeBackBy mobile application.
Provide secure user login and account management functionality.
Allow customers to view and purchase credits used within the application.
Make it easy for new users to understand the service and create an account.
Build an experience that works effectively for an audience frequently accessing the service from mobile devices.
Improve organic search visibility for relevant outdoor safety, hiking, biking, backpacking, skiing, and emergency alert searches.

Project Results

The BeBackBy website provided the application with a central digital platform for customer acquisition and account management. Prospective users could learn how the service worked and understand its value, while existing customers could log in, manage their accounts, check their credits, and purchase additional usage.

By connecting the public-facing website with the application's customer experience, Colorado Digital helped turn an innovative outdoor safety concept into a more complete digital product. The resulting platform supported both sides of the business: educating new customers about BeBackBy and providing the account and purchasing functionality needed by existing users.
